Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! Magnolia Plantation and Gardens would love to help make your special day memorable. We offer several unique and elegant locations for your event. Wedding ceremonies, receptions, rehearsal dinners, and photo shoots may be held on the gardens throughout the year.
Magnolia's Wedding Sites
We have three different sites available for ceremonies and/or receptions.
Carriage House and Carraige House Lawn
The historic, recently-restored historic Carriage House (c. 1840) overlooks the Ashley River, surrounded by ancient Live Oaks and sweeping lawns. Once used to house Drayton family carriages, today the building is both timeless and modern. Its exclusive riverside location makes it the ideal Lowcountry Plantation venue. At night, real burning lanterns and an outdoor fire and oyster pit give the outdoor space a special charm.
At 4000 square feet, the Carriage House is suitable for larger groups; the space can accommodate 150-175 for seated dinners and up to 250 guests with buffet or hors d’oeuvre arrangements. Tens on the lawn can be added if desired.

Veranda and Long Bridge Lawn
Enjoy restful views of grand Live Oaks and open pasture from the beautiful Veranda. In the heart of the Garden, this historic and elegant location is truly unique. The Plantation House Porch (20’ wide) fully surrounds the home and will comfortably seat 150 people for a seated dinner. Buffet or hors d’oeuvre arrangements permit 200-250 guests.

The Conservatory
Home to exotic tropical flora, this intimate indoor Conservatory and its outdoor deck overlooks Schoolhouse Pond and its famous Red Bridge. Grand cypress trees surround the deck, which opens into the Conservatory through large French doors. Here you will treat yourself and your guests to a truly romantic and exotic experience. There is room for 50 people for cocktails on the deck and seating for 75 at teak tables inside, where a winding path allows for a stroll through the tropical gardens.

With beautiful view of the Ashley River, the historic School House Pond Lawn is a short stroll from the Conservatory. This lawn was a key feature of Magnolia’s original 1671 garden design, an it provides a spacious ceremony site for 200+ guests seated.
