The self-guided Garden Tour, Gift Shop, Wildlife Center, Peacock Café, Nature Boat Tour, and Nature Train guided tours are accessible. However, walkers, wheelchairs, and motorized scooters may have difficulty maneuvering on unpaved paths around the property. The guided house tour requires walking up the steps into the house and due to the historic nature of the house, it is unfortunately not accessible for wheelchairs or scooters.

  • The best tour for someone who is mobility restricted/limited is the Nature Train. Wheelchair accessibility is first come/first serve. A ramp is provided to assist.

  • Strollers, wheelchairs, and scooters are welcome on the 66 acres of gardens and grounds. We do advise guests that many of our garden paths are uneven, as they are made of dirt and gravel. However, we have many lovely paved pathways that are perfectly suitable for wheelchairs and scooters, especially near the front of the house. The guided house tour does require walking up the steps into the house. Personal wheelchairs and scooters are prohibited on house tours.

  • We do participate in the AHS RAP program. Please present your membership card(s) at our Welcome Center when you arrive for complimentary Garden Admission. Garden Admission includes parking, 66 acres of public gardens, our Wildlife Center, and our From Slavery to Freedom tour. We honor admission for you and 1 guest per membership. If you are interested in additional guided tours, those can be purchased when you arrive onsite at our Welcome Center.

Please note memberships are viewed as individual and only two guests total may enter on any membership.
